I had such a fabulous vacation with the family when they came to visit! We ran around NON STOP and we were all worn out by the end of the trip, but we made it to Venice, Florence, Chianti, Rome, Bled Slovenia, and of course San Quirino and Aviano. So happy they were able to make it over here and couldn't have asked for a better trip. My mom did an excellent job documenting our trip in daily emails to the family. I'm not sure if they thought they were as great an idea as we did...as Christopher (Aunt Joyce's son) said "if u dont shut up about how great of a time ur having im gonna have to come over there and shut u up. class is great!" So I will include those emails in a future post. But I find I'm falling behind on blogging so quickly so I had to include a few pics to document our trip! I dropped the fam off at the the airport at 6:30am on Monday morning and drove right into work to start our Summer program! We are about to finish week two of summer, so I needed to get something posted! But my time has been quite limited! Enjoy the pics. I will post a Facebook album soon as well and will include the link on the blog.
Our gondola ride in Venice with Marco. My first ever, for as many times as I've been down there I had yet to do a ride. It was quite fun :)
Kelly in San Marco's Square
At a vineyard Casa Emma in Chianti. We had a private wine tour of the cantina and a tasting of 5 of their wines and their olive oil. It was so informative, quite fascinating, and beautiful!
Ahh, the Colosseum of course :)
They all just ensured their return to Rome by throwing a coin into Trevi Fountain!
Spending a relaxing afternoon overlooking Lake Bled in Slovenia.
Kelly and I rented bikes and rode around the lake one morning. Kelly's plan was to wear swimsuits and swim, but it was a bit chilly...so standing in Lake Bled had to do.
Seeester, seeester.
And sister, sister again!
At Lake Barcis on an unfortunately rainy day. But they got a little glimpse of it at least!
Sitting at the vineyard in my town, Gelisi Antonio awaiting a tour before going to watch the Thunderbirds take off from base.
And last but not least, Aunt Joyce and Mom with my sweet husband who joined us in Florence :)
Thank you Mom, Aunt Joyce, and Kelly for taking the time to come out here and visit. I loved having you here and would love to have you again! Just like with everyone else...Italy Part II might just be calling your name! Love you guys!
